THE STORY
South of Los Angeles, with overlooking views of the mountains and DTLA, sits the neighborhood of Baldwin Hills. The affluent black neighborhood was named after horse racing legend Elias Baldwin, who began developing the area in the 1920s. It has been called home to the likes of Ice Cube, who in 1987 helped form the group N.W.A, pioneering the gangsta sound which put the West Coast on the Hip Hop map.
